Info

At H-38, we partner with small teams to shape the systems that run the business. Our work is the architecture behind how a company actually operates.

Studio reel

We build operating systems and the surfaces around them, extending across operations, automation, product, and growth — creating alignment around one shared way of working, rather than six vendors each solving their corner of it. Built on clear standards and operating logic, they name what's settled, who owns it, and where there's room to move.

This only works when it's rooted in diagnosis. We define the “why” before the build: how the business actually runs, what's genuinely broken underneath it, and what a fix has to survive on a busy week.

Two architects with a passion to make architecture accessible

We trained as architects, learned to code, then learned how businesses run. H-38 is what happened when those three things stopped being separate.

H Block, Room 38

The name is the address. It started with a small group of us in H Block, Room 38 — the hostel room where we first worked together. Same speed, same standards, same refusal to accept “this is how it's done.” No titles. No business plan. Just late nights solving problems because we wanted to.

That room taught us things we never unlearned. We watched three people with the right setup do what ten couldn't, and saw that generalists who connect dots across domains outperform specialists who stay in one lane. Room H-38 isn't where we work anymore. It's how we work.

Working session
Systems in use

Systems like these require close collaboration to hold up over time. We work as a boutique partner built for direct relationships with in-house teams — one working session a week, the same people every time, integrated as an extension of the team itself.

Operating model

In short, we don't work with firms from the outside. We take a seat inside them.

Our Process

From diagnosis to scale, we work closely with in-house teams to find what's actually holding the business back, build the systems that fix it, and keep them running as the business changes.

  1. 01 — Diagnosis

We embed in the business and map how work actually moves, not how the process says it should. Where jobs arrive, who approves them, what stalls between two people, and which numbers leadership is steering on.

The result is alignment on what's genuinely broken, and a roadmap inside the first few weeks.

  2. 02 — Scope

We shape the fix and pressure-test it against a real week, across every function it touches: what gets automated, what gets simplified, and what stays manual on purpose.

This is the step that turns a set of fixes into a system.

  3. 03 — Build

We build it. Intake standards, approval gates, workflows, integrations, interfaces, templates and the operating documents around them — written by us, owned by you, deployed and documented.

Our systems give a small team one way of working, and the governance to keep it.

  4. 04 — & Beyond

Our role extends into rollout, adoption, and whatever the business runs into next. One working session a week, across tech, brand, operations and growth, with the same people every time.

Structural work needs watching for a few cycles before anyone can call it fixed. That's the part most engagements skip.

Careers

We're always looking for collaborators who think across code, design, operations and growth — people whose range is the point rather than a footnote.
